This review is for installation only, which took about an hour. Should've taken no more than 30 minutes, but....

Assembly Fail: Yes, Char-broil must have recently changed the factory assembly and the wheels do indeed come with the hub-caps pre-installed as Hank indicated, which WILL prevent you from installing them properly. You'll have to remove the hubcaps in order to install the pin that holds the wheels in place. NOT an easy task to remove the hubcaps as they're on there pretty good; took 15 minutes. Work a medium-sized flat-head screwdriver between the hubcap and wheel and apply steady force and the hubcap will come free. There are three tabs for the hubcap; place the screwdriver near the tabs and it will work reasonably well. Not sure what Char-broil was thinking...

Instruction Fail: The instructions say that the only tools needed are a screwdriver and adjustable wrench. Technically true, but installation goes MUCH EASIER if you have a nut-driver with 1/4" and 3/8" sockets. There are many steps where using a wrench to tighten nuts just isn't practical due to tight spaces and interfering objects. In fact, one of the steps states "a nut-driver will work nicely on this step", even though they don't list it as one of the required tools. It takes twice as long to assemble without a nut-driver. Not a big deal if you're at home with your tools. In my case, I was at a relative's house and didn't have my nut driver. Sad panda....

Packaging Fail: I sympathize with Hank's comments, but I think he missed an important distinction. There ARE properly sized nuts for installing the wind screen (all screws, nuts and bolt come in single package with items clearly marked and clearly visible through a clear plastic cover). There are 4 large and 10 small nuts. However...the way the small nuts are stored on the cardboard package, it's easy to confuse them for a large screw; they're stored on their sides.... Saved space, but makes it easy to reach for the larger nuts when you can't easily identify the smaller ones.

Design Fail: The igniter resides directly above where the grease trap slides in, so you have to route the igniter wire in a way that forces it off to the side. Tough to explain clearly here, but you'll see it when you reach that step. Easily resolved, but still another minor "what were they thinking" moment....

Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of the grill, and the assembly was still relatively easy; hence the 4 stars. Assembly foibles notwithstanding, everything fit snugly and easily, and the connection points are very solid - no flimsy screw holes like you find on cheap furniture. The grill feels more robust than others I've purchased for twice the price.

The Char Broil Patio Bistro is an outstanding high heat grill. Because of the high heat capabilities (700 F) this grill is one of the best at grilling all sorts of steaks, chops, etc. The high heat allows the meat to sear quickly and retain its natural juices, thus creating an excellent meal in very little time. Perfect sized grill for a small family and a limited space area such as a patio/porch.

I am very happy with this grill. First of all, I assembled it myself and it was easy (I am 65 and did not even own the wrench they recommended. In spite of the wrong tools, it took me about an hour and a half from box to cooking. I thought I was missing a part (it turned out to be on the floor) and Char-broil sent me out a replacement part the very next day.

As far a grilling, I am delighted. I've cooked shirmp, steak and salmon and all are some of my best BBQ ever -- very juicy. My one issue is the spark starter, which doesn't seem to spark. I am planning to call Char-Broil today and, if my last experience with customer service is any indicator, I bet they help me to get it going. The Amazon delivery was fast and easy--right to my front door. I think my expectations were low, but this grill has exceeded my wildest hopes and it is perfect for what I need (a one or two person gas grill.)
